ABSTRACT

Online management system is one of a web-based application that could help

organizations in enhancing their productivity, encouraging greater customer

participation, and enabling mass customization, besides reducing costs. Online

management system or electronic management can be defined as a process to manage

data, information and making communication through the Internet. The process could

be implemented in different categories of technology such as real-time system, web

Monitoring & Visiting Supervisor
One of the lecturers from FCSIT, UNIMAS may visit the student
within the period given. The assigned lecturer will contact the
student prior to meeting the student in person at the specific
date, time and venue agreed upon by both parties, with the
presence of the company supervisor if possible.
Students will be required to give a brief presentation on what
they have been doing throughout the internship period. If the
monitoring & visiting session cannot be carried out, a remote
mode of a telephone call or video call would replace the face-to
face meeting.
The assigned monitoring & visiting supervisor is responsible for
assessing the student’s Industrial Training report and log book,
through the Industrial Training portal.
The submission of LI final report and
log book must be submitted 2
weeks before end of Industrial
Training session

Pre Internship
A briefing session will be conducted by Industrial Training
Coordinator in the middle of each semester. All news,
announcement and info will be published the eLeap site. LI
Coordinators will use eLeap as a platform to disseminate
relevant information about the Industrial Training course.
Students are required to search and apply for a company of
their choice that offers internships related to their respective
programs
Students then are required to upload their resume and apply for
FCSIT LI-1 Industrial Training Application at
https://fcsitli.ia.unimas.my
The LI Coordinators will determine if the applicant company is
suitable. The application would be denied if the coordinators
deemed the applicant’s company unsuitable.
Obtain the completed Offer Letter from the organisation that
offered you a place for training and return it to the coordinator
via the FCSIT LI system in order to obtain the Surat Pengesahan
Melapor Diri Untuk Mengalani Latihan Industri / Praktikal (i.e.
the report duty letter).
No changes of placement are allowed after this document is
issued. In the case of multiple offers, the student is required to
politely reject the rest once the student has accepted a
particular offer.

Students are given the freedom to
search for an Internship Placement
company. However, if you intend to
apply for an internship placement
outside Malaysia, please c.c each of
your email correspondence to
fcsitcoordinators@unimas.my.

During Internship (1/2)

Once the students have reported for duty, students are

considered to have secured an internship placement. They need,

to update the details of the Industrial Training – Application for

Placement at https://smpweb.unimas.my/eStudent/, using

Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

The details include the name of the company/organization, its

address/website, and the industrial supervisor’s name and

position. As for “Organisation Email”, the students need to key in

the supervisor’s email.

Next, the students need to complete their University Online

Registration for the course Industrial Training in the specific

week allocated, 12 – 15 Mac 2024 (subject to changes) for that

particular semester 2 2023/2024.

During internship (2/2)
Students’ activities in the log book need to update through the
Industrial Training Portal using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome
at https://estudent.unimas.my/PenyeliaanPelajar/, Upload the
hardcopy log book signed by the company supervisor monthly
(assuming one month is equivalent to four weeks), that is a total
of SIX signatures are required for the duration of 6 months.
Industrial Training Portal: Students must keep all their uploaded
files’ names short and simple. If the students wish to update any
file that has been uploaded, name the new file name the same as
the old file.
The system will automatically update the new file and show only
the latest one. The portal caters for all university students, so it is
advisable for the students to keep each file size as small as
possible.
